Reece Kennedy – Director
Reece’s professional background began as an electrical apprentice at the young age of seventeen. In the final year of his apprenticeship, this go-getter then began his entrepreneurial journey by embarking on his first business, Total Electrics and Air Conditioning. As his experience and knowledge grew as well as his passion for a long-term sustainable future for Australia, he launched Total Solar Solutions Australia in 2012.
Reece is making an impact on the solar industry in Australia. What sets him apart is his mission to provide consumers with the highest quality solar products, which offer product longevity, adequate warranties and local technical support. This is packaged with installation by his highly qualified team, whose workmanship is focused on skill as well as customer service. He still loves to get out on the tools with his team and gains a lot of pride from watching his workforce deliver to consumers.
In his personal time, you will find Reece volunteering for the Knox Club Sport Fishing Club, camping with his family and supporting his favourite AFL team, Hawthorn Hawks.
Christine Kennedy – CFO & Community Engagement
Christine’s obsession with great customer service stemmed from her experience working for the Melbourne City Council and as a ‘Director of First Impressions’ in the Barry Plant Group along with other corporate roles until late 2017, when she decided to combine her skills and passion for renewable energy.
Her ability to connect with clients, understand their requirements and communicate this clearly to her team ensures that every installation is completed with the highest quality workmanship and customer care.
Her passion for providing positive customer outcomes led her to join the ‘Industry and Consumer Reference Group’ for Solar Victoria in 2020. She is also a founding member of Australian Women in Solar Energy (AWISE). Christine has emerged as one of Australia's leading voices for change and a fearless advocate of women in solar. She is an in-demand mentor for multiple female apprentice programs and presents as a keynote speaker.
Pat – General Manager
Pat has 10 years’ experience in the clean technology and renewable energy industry leading high-performing delivery, sales and business development teams across residential, construction, commercial, government and education sector projects. Pat is deeply passionate about our industry, its dedicated professionals, and the technologies we deploy to help our customers and communities reduce energy costs, become more resilient and reduce carbon emissions.
Joining us as General Manager in 2023, Pat leads our team to continuously improve the high quality of installations and service we proudly provide to our customers. Pat also has a keen focus on professional development of our staff to ensure they have fulfilling careers in this exciting and constantly evolving industry, as they emerge as valuable leaders in the energy transition.
Pat has been involved in some of Victoria’s largest clean technology projects with expertise in solar, battery storage, electric vehicle charging, heat pumps, microgrids, embedded networks, Virtual Power Plants, and sustainability consulting amongst other areas.
Outside of work Pat is passionate about music, enjoys gardening with his chickens and outdoor adventures!
Daniel – Solar Consultant
Daniel has enjoyed working with Total Solar Solutions since 2017. He is a proud father to 3 children, and husband to wife Min. Daniel has a wide field of work experience which includes time served in the Australian Army, hotel and security management and logistics.
Daniel has always had particular interest in technical fields and a passion for all things solar and renewable energy. He has a lot of experience and technical knowledge with solar and batteries and enjoys advising customers on how best to improve their home or business with a well-designed quality solar system.
Allison – Office Support
Ally is your trusted guide in the world of solar energy. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for exceptional customer service, she is dedicated to ensuring a smooth journey for those venturing into solar power. From assisting with your Solar Victoria application to organizing the information pack provided by installers, Ally takes care of it all. She diligently submits your distributor connection requests and ensures you receive copies of all essential documentation. Beyond her professional expertise, Ally is a loving parent to five children and a devoted supporter of the Richmond Tigers. (but don’t hold that against her!)
Andrew – Business Development Manager
As a Plumbing and Hydronic Heating Specialist with over two decades of experience, Andrew brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on expertise to every project. From the intricacies of design to the seamless execution of installations, his focus is on delivering efficient and sustainable solutions tailored to the unique needs of each client. This is a role that he approaches with passion and dedication.
Beyond the realm of pipes and fittings, the Andrew's interests span a diverse spectrum. He maintains a commitment to a healthy lifestyle through fitness and the great outdoors. Staying at the forefront of Gaming PC Building is a personal fascination, and he finds joy in crafting powerful gaming rigs while staying up-to-date with the latest technologies.
Andrew's mission extends beyond the technicalities of plumbing and heating & cooling. He aspires to inspire an all-inclusive approach to living, blending his technical expertise with a passion for a healthy lifestyle and a keen interest in technological advancements.
Mattena – Accounts
Mattena is a reliable professional known for her meticulousness, integrity, and prompt payment practices, making her an indispensable asset to our suppliers. With a keen eye for detail, she ensures that all transactions are accurately recorded and customer payments are promptly receipted. Mattena's exceptional organizational skills are reflected in her ability to efficiently schedule installation dates, ensuring timely service delivery. Her exceptional telephone etiquette stems from her experience working at the House of Commons in the UK, further adding to her impressive skill set. With Mattena on board, our suppliers can rest assured that their needs will be met with utmost efficiency and professionalism.
Scott – A-Grade Electrician & CEC Accredited Installer
Scott started his journey in the electrical field as a first-year apprentice under the guidance of Reece in 2017. With determination and hard work, he successfully completed his apprenticeship and earned the title of an A-Grade Electrician in early 2021. Alongside this achievement, Scott also obtained his CEC Design & Install Accreditation, showcasing his expertise in renewable energy systems.
Scott's approachable and laid-back attitude makes him a valuable asset to both customers and his team. His problem-solving skills and customer-centric mindset ensure that no challenge is ever too big to handle. With a strong commitment to providing exceptional service, Scott strives to deliver reliable electrical solutions while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanour.
Mitch (Foggy) – A-Grade Electrician & CEC Accredited Installer
Mitch, a dedicated and passionate individual, embarked on his journey in the solar industry in 2018. Starting as a trade assistant for another solar company, Mitch quickly found his calling amidst the renewable energy sector.
In his pursuit of growth and professional development, Mitch joined the esteemed team at Total Solar as a first-year electrical apprentice. With a meticulous approach to his work, Mitch's attention to detail sets him apart from the rest. His commitment to delivering exceptional results is unwavering, ensuring that every project he undertakes is executed flawlessly.
Onsite, Mitch's infectious smile is impossible to miss. His positive demeanour creates a welcoming and productive atmosphere, fostering collaboration and teamwork among his colleagues. He not only brings technical expertise but also contributes to a vibrant and uplifting work environment.
Mitch – Electrical Apprentice
Mitch is an integral member of the Total Solar team, having joined in 2018 as a bright-eyed electrical apprentice. With a background in Electrical Engineering from University, he quickly discovered his passion for hands-on learning. Mitch's expertise in commissioning Tesla Powerwall systems has made him the go-to person in the team. Whether he's behind the wheel of one of our trucks or enjoying vegan donuts, Mitch brings an infectious energy and a commitment to delivering top-notch service. His dedication and technical prowess make him an invaluable asset to the Total Solar team.
Matt – Electrical Apprentice
Matt, a mature age electrical apprentice who embarked on his journey in 2020, is a professional with a unique blend of skills and experience. With a wealth of expertise in customer service from his previous roles, Matt understands the importance of establishing strong relationships with clients. His friendly attitude and approachable nature make him the perfect candidate to be the first to knock on your door when electrical services are needed. Combining his technical knowledge with exceptional interpersonal skills, Matt strives to provide top-notch service and ensure customer satisfaction in every interaction.
Luke - Electrical Apprentice
Luke joined our organization in 2022 as an aspiring electrical apprentice, bringing along a contagious positive attitude and a genuine eagerness to expand his knowledge and skills. With an unwavering commitment to his craft, he quickly became an invaluable member of our team. Beyond his professional pursuits, Luke finds solace and joy in the game of cricket during his personal time. His dedication to both his career and personal interests exemplifies his well-rounded nature. Luke's drive, enthusiasm, and passion make him a standout individual, constantly seeking growth and excellence in all aspects of his life.
Madi - Electrical Apprentice
Meet Madi, a vibrant 2nd-year electrical apprentice with a passion for learning and a positive outlook on life. She approaches each day with enthusiasm and a desire to expand her knowledge in the field of electrical work. During the weekends, you'll find Madi showcasing her athletic abilities as she takes the field for Silvan in the AFL. She also cherishes her time outdoors, frequently embarking on camping adventures. Madi's commitment to personal and professional growth, coupled with her love for sports and nature, make her a well-rounded and driven individual.
Brooke - Electrical Apprentice
Brooke embarked on her electrical apprenticeship journey with us in 2023, bringing a bright, bubbly attitude that enhances our workplace. Eager to learn and grow in her role, Brooke approaches each task with enthusiasm and determination. Beyond her dedication to the electrical trade, she loves dog and embraces the great outdoors through her passion for camping. Brooke's vibrant personality and commitment to both her professional and personal pursuits make her an invaluable member of our team, leaving a positive impact on those around her.
